Steps to enable LSEG Messenger capture

Updated over 11 months ago

Note: LSEG Messenger is also known by its previous named of Reuters Messenger and Eikon Messenger.

MCO supports 2 types of Reuters Log Acquisition.

Direct Connect With LSEG (Reuters)

MCO can acquire logs directly from LSEG and manage the import process with minimal work on behalf of the client's IT.

To accomplish this MCO needs:

  • Access to the client's Reuters

    • Fairwords will provide IP Address, PGP Key, Passphrase

  • Logs exported in the supported Reuters format

The client needs to:

  • Confirm that they have the requisite Reuters account for access granting

Client Managed SFTP Transfer

The other option is for the client to acquire the logs from the provider in the supported format and place in a MCO managed SFTP.

To accomplish this Client needs:

  • An internal process for exporting and transferring logs that MCO does not manage

  • Logs exported in the supported Reuters format

Mapping Users to LSEG Messenger identities

Mapping users to their LSEG Messenger (Reuters) identities is critical so that eComms can know how to handle their communications.

eComms users are mapped to their LSEG identities. These can be mapped to the primary email address in their profile by default and to additional Reuters Source Mappings.

To add additional LSEG identities mappings to a user profile.

  1. Sign in to MCO eComms as a Admin user.

  2. Navigate to Settings > Users page to locate specific users for mapping.

  3. Open a user profile by clicking edit (pencil icon).

  4. Locate the Sources section and select the Edit button. To put the section in editing mode.

  5. Select Add Source button to insert a new mapping record.

  6. Select the LSEG Messenger in the Source name column and enter the email address(es) used to identify this user in LSEG Messenger.

  7. Add additional LSEG Messenger identities as required.

  8. Click Save button when done to save the mapping.

Immediately after adding this user source mapping, newly arriving LSEG Messenger messages with the entered identities will be mapped to this user. Once mapped all retention and detection policies associated with this user will be applied moving forward.

Important! New source mappings will update existing messages and alerts in the account for search and display reference purposes. However, they will not retroactively apply retention and detection policies to messages already in the application.
