For Admins and Supervisors.
Before you begin
Confirm your role has Archive search access. See User Roles.
Know the keyword, participant, source, or date range you want to search on — the Archive does not display any messages until you run a search.
If you plan to filter by Supervision Group, confirm which User Groups you have purview over. See How message visibility works in the Archive.
Steps
Click Archive in the top navigation. The Search Results panel is empty and prompts you to enter search criteria.
Under Basic information, enter a keyword or Message ID, and set a Date Range if needed. Keyword search matches an exact phrase and ignores surrounding symbols — for example, searching
[marketing]behaves the same as searchingmarketing. Enter a comma-separated list to match messages containing any of the listed terms.Expand Advanced Options and select from Alerts on Messages, Attachments on Messages, Noise on Messages, and Unmapped Messages. Each pair is multi-select — you can choose one option, both options, or neither. Leaving a pair unselected returns the same results as selecting both options in that pair.
Under Participants, search for and add one or more participants in Participant Search. You can select a specific identity (for example, one email address or Bloomberg chat ID) or select a person's (All) entry to match every identity that person uses across all their communication channels. Add as many participants as you need — each one appears in a list below the search box with its own direction control and a delete icon. Use the direction control to limit that participant to messages they sent, messages they received, or both.
If you added more than one participant, set the Matching condition to control how they combine:
Match Any — the message or alert must involve at least one of the listed participants.
Match All — the message or alert must involve all of the listed participants, and may also involve other people not listed.
Match Only — the message or alert must involve exclusively the listed participants, with no other people included.
Under Supervision, select a Supervision Group to limit results to messages tagged with that group, or leave No Specific Group selected to search across every group you have purview over. You can select one group at a time; a message matches if it carries that group's tag, regardless of what other groups it may also be tagged with.
Under Source, select one or more communication sources to limit results to those channels. Leave all sources unchecked to search across every source configured for your account.
Click Search. The Search Results panel populates with messages matching your criteria.
Select one or more messages using the checkboxes, then click Add to Collection to add them to a Collection for further investigation, legal hold, or export.
Result
The Search Results panel displays the messages matching your search criteria, with a total count next to the pagination controls. If nothing matches, the panel shows a count of 0.
Next steps
See Manage Collections (link TBD) to organize, share, or export the messages you've found.
