Configuring Google G Suite for email journaling

This article shows you how to configure third-party email archiving in Google Workspace so journaled email is sent to the MCO eComms journaling address.

For Google Workspace administrators.

Before you begin

  • Confirm you have administrator access to the Google Admin console.

  • Confirm you have the MCO eComms journaling address.

  • Confirm your Google Workspace edition supports third-party email archiving.

NOTE: Google refers to this setting as third-party email archiving. This feature is available only with supported Google Workspace editions, such as Google Workspace Enterprise and Google Workspace for Education editions that include the feature.

Steps

  1. Sign in to the Google Admin console with an administrator account. The Admin console opens.

  2. From the Admin console home page, go to Apps > Google Workspace > Gmail > Advanced settings.

  3. Optional: In the left navigation, select the organization that the journaling rule applies to.

  4. Under Routing, find Third-party email archiving.

    You can also use the search field to search for Third-party email archiving.

  5. Click Add setting. The third-party email archiving settings open.

  6. Enter the MCO eComms journaling address.

  7. Review the setting.

  8. Click Save. Google Workspace saves the third-party email archiving setting.

Result

Google Workspace sends journaled email to the MCO eComms journaling address through the third-party email archiving setting. MCO eComms can process the journaled email communications according to your organization’s configured policies and license limitations.
