A key difference between the two is that to start searching and displaying items in your Archive, you need to use the filter on the left-hand side of the archive and fill out some parameters in the filter to begin searching and displaying the archive items.
The filter in the archive is like the filter feature in the Inbox. However, it adds a parameter for “Alerts on Messages” which is used to filter between e-communications that generated alerts vs those that did not. By default, it shows both. To select “with alerts” or “without alerts” simply click on the respective button in the filter sidebar.
You will also notice some difference in the alerts overview displayed in the archive. It will only show you that an alert was generated from an e-communication not the flags that were detected.
Along with that, you will notice there are no quick actions (or actions at all) that appear when hovering over a message.
You can view an alert that was generated from a given e-communication by opening the message and clicking “Alert” in the top right corner of the message. This will take you to the alert in the Inbox.
Message Details view within the Archive
Within the Message Details, you will find a similar layout to the Alert Details view. The biggest differences being there is no audit trail, comments display of flags, no action buttons, and no assignment capabilities.
However, you will find an “Add to Collection” button in the top right corner of the Message Details view.
Adding to Collection allows you to add a message to a collection. This is doable from the Archive view that displays e-communications in rows and columns or from here in Message Detail View.
