Before you begin
Confirm your Compliance Administrator has provisioned your account for Signal capture.
Confirm the TM SGNL app is installed on your Android device.
Confirm you can receive a verification code by mobile phone or organization email, depending on your organization’s setup.
Confirm you are using the phone number assigned for Signal capture.
Be prepared to allow the app to access the permissions required for capture.
NOTE: MCO uses TeleMessage to capture Signal data for this source. TeleMessage captures the supported communications and makes them available to MCO eComms for retention, monitoring, and review.
Android setup note
When setting up Signal Capture on an Android device, Signal chat history can be backed up only to a local location on the device.
Open the Signal Capture app
On your Android device, open the installed TM SGNL app.
Tap CONTINUE.
Review the permissions requested by the app.
The app may request access to:
Send notifications.
Access contacts.
Make and manage phone calls.
Tap Next.
Tap Allow when Android asks you to grant the required permissions.
Verify your phone number
Enter your phone number.
Tap Continue.
A one-time PIN is sent to your phone number.
Review the phone number verification message.
Confirm the phone number is correct.
Tap OK.
A verification code is sent to your phone number or organization email, depending on your organization’s configuration.
Enter the verification code
Locate the verification code sent to your phone number or organization email.
Enter the verification code in the TM SGNL app.
Set up your profile
Enter your first name.
Enter your last name, if required by your organization.
Tap Next.
NOTE: First name is required. Last name is optional unless your organization requires it.
Create your PIN
Create a PIN to secure your account.
The PIN can be numeric or alphanumeric and must contain at least four characters.
Tap Next.
Confirm your PIN.
Tap Next.
NOTE: If the PIN is not secure, the app prompts you to create a stronger PIN.
Result
The Signal Capture home screen appears. Your Signal Capture account is active on your Android device.
After setup is complete, supported Signal communications can be captured by TeleMessage and made available to MCO eComms according to your organization’s configuration and policies.
