What is Telegram capture?
Telegram capture brings supported Telegram communications into MCO eComms through the CM for TLGRM app so they can be retained, monitored, and reviewed according to your organization’s electronic communications policy.
Overview
Telegram is a messaging application used for direct and group communications. Telegram communications can include business records that compliance teams need to preserve and supervise.
MCO eComms supports Telegram capture through the CM for TLGRM app. MCO configures a firm-specific journaling address and coordinates setup with the capture partner. Covered employees must install and activate the CM for TLGRM app on their mobile devices before their Telegram messages are captured.
Telegram capture supports Android and Apple iOS devices. Each covered employee must be provisioned before app setup and must complete activation using their phone number and native Telegram app.
How it works

Collect employee details | Your organization collects each covered employee’s full name, email address, and phone number using the form provided by MCO. |
Configure journaling | MCO configures a firm-specific journaling address and coordinates setup with the capture partner. |
Complete pilot testing | MCO and your organization test the capture service with a small number of employee accounts before wider deployment. |
Deploy the app | Covered employees download the CM for TLGRM app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store. |
Activate user accounts | Covered employees activate the app using their phone number and verification code from the native Telegram app. |
Capture communications | The CM for TLGRM app captures Telegram messages for employees who completed setup. |
Archive messages | Captured Telegram communications are made available in MCO eComms for archiving and surveillance. |
Apply policies | Once communications are associated with users, configured retention and detection policies apply based on your organization’s setup and license limitations. |
Review communications | Compliance users can search, monitor, and review captured Telegram communications in MCO eComms. |
Employee setup requirement
Each covered employee must install and activate the CM for TLGRM app before Telegram messages are captured.
NOTE: Employees who have not completed CM for TLGRM app setup will not have their Telegram communications captured.

Message availability
Telegram communications may not appear in the archive immediately after setup is complete. Availability depends on employee activation, capture partner configuration, transfer method, and processing schedule.
After Telegram communications are captured and associated with users, they can be retained and reviewed in MCO eComms according to the policies assigned to the user.
